Plou’side 2023, 100% Ploussard from Jura, natural, light and vibrant. Notes of red berries, fine herbs and fresh earth on the nose, supple, juicy and elegant on the palate, with a delicately sanguine and mineral finish. A light red, easy to drink and charming, ideal served slightly chilled...
Etienne Horbach grew up in Arbois, amidst the vineyards and grape harvests, and it is with this innate sensitivity to the Jura terroir that he now crafts his wines. Le Plou'Side is his Ploussard, the quintessential indigenous red grape variety of the Jura, which produces wines of a lightness and clarity that few French regions can claim. With just 12% alcohol and ageing in stainless steel vats that preserves all the fruit’s liveliness, this is a red wine made for immediate enjoyment.
The colour is light, almost translucent ruby, with the slightly brick-red hues characteristic of the grape variety. The nose is delicate and precise, with notes of red berries, wild strawberries, fine herbs and a hint of fresh earth reminiscent of the Jura subsoil. The palate is supple and juicy, with no harsh tannins, a silky texture and natural acidity that lends liveliness and makes it wonderfully drinkable. The finish is slightly blood-like and mineral, long for such a light wine. It is a rare red, in the noblest sense of the term. Serve slightly chilled, around 14°C, with Jura charcuterie, a young Comté, poultry, or simply for the pleasure of a glass in good company...
