Montée Furieuse comes from a steep, south-west facing slope in Savoie Chautagne, where molasse rock breaks through a thin layer of quartz-rich soil. The vines struggle here, and that struggle is exactly the point. Shallow, mineral-poor ground gives Jacquère the liveliness and freshness that define this cuvée, a wine built to express the grape in its rawest, most direct form.

The vinification leans into that idea further than any other Veronnet cuvée. The wine ferments exclusively in demi-muids, with half the volume also passing through barrique, and ages on full lees for twelve months. It is a more deliberate and hands-on approach than Corentin's usual concrete or stainless steel work, one that gives Jacquère, a variety often dismissed as simple, the structure and body to stand on its own.

The 2024 vintage let that varietal character surface more than usual. This cuvée reflects the true typicity of Jacquère, fruity and sharp, carried by a body built through lees ageing, and this year the variety's natural expression comes through with a little more presence than in past vintages. Sharp citrus and orchard fruit meet a chalky, mineral spine, with the wood ageing rounding out the edges just enough to give the wine real length without dulling its edge. A precise, mineral white built for fish, for Savoyard mountain cheese, or simply for tasting Jacquère as it was meant to be.
