Héraclite Pinot Meunier 2019 stands out with an open nose of red fruits, morello cherry, black cherry and raspberry, complemented by a touch of sweet spices and a hint of toast. From the first sip, the palate asserts itself with amplitude and beautiful density, while retaining a clean acidity. The ripe fruit returns, supported by a chalky minerality that adds tension. The finish is long and slightly woody, with a lingering saline freshness. A wine that is both generous and straightforward, perfectly representative of the Meunier grape variety...
This champagne is made from 100% Pinot Meunier harvested in 2019 from old plots located around the Premier Cru village of Villers-Allerand, in the Montagne de Reims. The vineyard is farmed using environmentally friendly methods and the grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in old oak barrels, with spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, which brings depth, roundness and complexity without overpowering the fruit. No filtration, no fining, little sulphur if used, and bottling is done as Brut Nature (0g/L dosage).
Prolonged ageing on lees and a minimalist approach allow for a sincere expression of Meunier and the clay-limestone terroir. This wine combines richness and tension, vinous character and freshness, making it a natural champagne with a beautiful rustic elegance, faithful to Stroebel's "winemaker" spirit.
