Pinot Noir from the Butte Rouge parcel in Gy... Red fruit, cherry, and a touch of spice carry the nose, backed by the bright acidity this Geneva terroir is known for. A pretty, juicy red that drinks with real ease while still showing real character, the kind of bottle that quietly wins over both newcomers and seasoned natural wine drinkers!
Anthony Fonjallaz grows this Pinot Noir on the Butte Rouge parcel of the Domaine du Chambet in Gy, farmed organically on Geneva's left bank. The grapes are vinified whole cluster and fermented with indigenous yeasts, with no inputs and no sulfites added along the way.
The result is a pretty, elegant Pinot Noir marked by red fruit and spice, carried by the bright, fresh acidity typical of this Geneva terroir. It sits comfortably between the domaine's more classic bottlings and its livelier natural cuvées, making it a safe and satisfying choice whether the drinker is new to natural wine or well versed in it. Certified Bio Suisse, and built to please at any table.
The Domaine du Chambet, located in Gy on the border with neighbouring France, is enjoying a second youth since the arrival of Anthony Fonjallaz, the fourth generation to cultivate the family estate. Since 2020 and the launch of the Cuvées Libres, the wines are making their way into cellars and restaurants across Switzerland. Fresh, lively, militant juices that carry the colours of the Geneva terroir high as ever...
