A bold orange wine from Campania, blending Trebbiano Rosa and Malvasia. Structured, aromatic and slightly wild, with citrus peel, herbs and a firm, grippy texture...
Foresta 2024 is a blend of Trebbiano, Trebbiano Rosa and Malvasia di Candia grown in the hills of Cerreto Sannita, north-east of Naples. The grapes come from different altitudes and soil types, combining clay-rich valley sites with higher volcanic parcels, bringing both density and freshness to the wine.
Co-fermented on the skins for an extended period, the wine develops a deeper color and a more pronounced structure compared to the rest of the range. This longer maceration results in a wine with greater weight and a defined tannic backbone while maintaining vibrancy.
On the nose, it shows intense aromas of citrus peel, tropical fruit and southern herbs, layered with spicy and slightly smoky notes. The palate is punchy and mineral, combining bitter orange, grapefruit and herbal complexity with a firm, textured grip and lively acidity.
Unfiltered and made with native yeasts without additions, Foresta is the most structured and expressive of Gismondi’s macerated whites, offering a deeper, more powerful interpretation of Campania’s terroir.
Anabel and Antonio Gismondi are based in the Benevente mountains, north-east of Naples, in southern Italy. Antonio's family has been working the land of Cerreto Sannita for generations, cultivating autochthonous grape varieties such as Malvasia di Candia, Falanghina or Sangiovese. Since 2019, the grapes that were previously sold to the cooperative winery have been vinified by the couple, for an exhilarating result of southern aromas and mountain freshness...
