Garennes 2022 blossoms in a light, pale gold colour with fine, lively bubbles. The nose combines stewed pear, ripe citrus fruits, white flowers and a subtle toasted note, almost brioche-like. On the palate, the attack is frank, the texture full-bodied yet airy, carried by a lively freshness and chalky minerality. The wine offers beautiful density, saline tension, vinous depth and a long, saline and slightly iodised finish. A vibrant, balanced and beautifully elegant champagne, a faithful reflection of the Marne Valley terroir...
The Garennes cuvée is a blend dominated by 90% Pinot Meunier, complemented by a touch of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The grapes come from the villages of Chambrecy, Damery, Cumières and Hautvillers, with plots laboriously cultivated using organic farming methods, some of which are worked with horses. The vines, some of which are between 30 and 80 years old, grow on south-south-east facing slopes with limestone, clay-sand or chalky soils, ideal for expressing the terroir of the Marne Valley.
After manual harvesting, the must is vinified with indigenous yeasts and low sulphur, then fermented and aged in old oak barrels. Ageing gives the wine structure, density and depth, while preserving its freshness and precision. The blend is based on a multi-vintage principle, with a solera between 2013 and 2022, ensuring continuity and complexity. The final dosage is very low (Extra Brut, approx. 1g/l), allowing the purity of the fruit, the minerality and the natural acidity of the wine to express themselves.

This pioneering choice, combined with meticulous winemaking, produces rare, pure champagnes that are deeply influenced by their terroir...
