Rosé des Riceys En Barmont 2018 opens with a very clear pale pink colour. The nose combines wild strawberry, fresh cherry and raspberry, with a touch of peony and light undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is refined, lively and precise, carried by beautiful acidity and a delicate texture. The fruit remains pure and vibrant, with minerality bringing integrity and freshness. The finish prolongs the red fruit notes with a salty and floral nuance. An elegant, lively and very expressive terroir rosé...
This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes harvested by hand in En Barmont, one of the most renowned vineyards in Les Riceys. The clay-limestone soils and south- and south-east-facing slopes offer maturity, finesse and tension. The vinification follows local tradition with a short maceration that gives colour, aromas of red berries and a delicate structure. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and ageing on lees preserves freshness and precision without fining or filtration, in a natural spirit.
Les Riceys is the largest wine-growing village in Champagne and the only one to have three AOCs, including the rare Rosé des Riceys appellation. This unique style is somewhere between a still rosé and a light red, produced exclusively from Pinot Noir on steep slopes with Kimmeridgian soils similar to those of Chablis. The result is tense, fragrant, dry but fleshy wines, capable of ageing for several years while retaining their aromatic finesse.

His wines, Champagnes, Rosés des Riceys and Coteaux Champenois, reflect an often overlooked terroir with sincerity, depth and originality...
