Luchini "Blanc"

2022/2023, white, 75cl

CHF 30.00

Luchini Blanc pours a pale, slightly golden hue with an inviting aromatic profile of ripe pear, white peach and citrus blossom, layered over gently chalky wet-stone minerality. On the palate it’s sleek and well-balanced, with bright acidity framing zesty green apple and lemon pith flavours, a subtle saline tension and an elegant, lingering finish that keeps the fruit fresh without heaviness. The texture is long and refined, showing both purity and subtle depth from the mixed-vintage assemblage...

More details...

Luchini Blanc is crafted from organically farmed Chenin Blanc grapes, most drawn from parcels usually destined for their Faia cuvée. Soils here comprise well-drained schist and related volcanic sediments, contributing fresh minerality and clarity to the wine. The cuvée is vinified as a blend of 2022 and 2023 Chenin wines, resulting in a balanced expression that marries the rounder, barrel-aged richness of the 2022 with the brighter, clay-fermented freshness of the 2023.

Vinification follows the Hodgsons’ minimal-intervention philosophy, hand harvesting, indigenous yeast fermentation with no fining or filtration, and ageing in a mix of old barrels and large vessels before final blending and bottling. There are no added sulphites, and the result is a vibrant, energetic dry white showing a natural wine character that’s both accessible and layered.
