333.d opens with an elegant nose combining orange zest, fresh red apple, red berries and dried flowers, with a hint of petrol and earthy aromas in the background. On the palate, it develops a full-bodied and vibrant profile, with a fine balance between richness and lively acidity. The texture is silky yet structured, carried by a lively freshness, and the salty and slightly chalky finish brings tension and minerality. This champagne seduces with its lively expression, aromatic complexity and subtle energy...
The 333.d cuvée is a non-vintage blend combining three grape varieties, mainly Pinot Noir, complemented by Chardonnay and a small proportion of Pinot Meunier. The grapes are sourced from several villages, mainly around Écueil in the Montagne de Reims, but also sometimes from other locations depending on the selected plots, giving it its identity of "three grape varieties, three villages, three origins".
The wine is based on a 2020 blend enriched with around 40% reserve wines from 2019 and 2018. For this version, vinification was carried out entirely in stainless steel vats without the use of wood or ageing in casks. Pressing is traditional, with the juice flowing by gravity, followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts. There is no racking, filtration or topping up. Bottling is done as Brut Nature, without the addition of sugar, for a pure expression of the grape and the terroir.
The result is a champagne of great sincerity, both full-bodied and taut, revealing the deep character of Écueil Pinot Noir, balanced by the freshness of Chardonnay, displaying minerality, salinity and beautiful energy.
