Everything that grows white in Bonastre, in one glass. Seven indigenous varieties, one field blend, zero compromise. Briny, expressive and dangerously easy to drink, the spirit of Partida Creus in its most generous format...
VNB stands for Vinel-Lo Blanc, Partida Creus' white field blend and one of the most quietly ambitious wines in their range. Seven local varieties make up the blend in roughly equal proportions: Garnatxa Blanca, Macabeu, Moscatel, Xarello, Vinyater, Pansa and Parellada. It is made as a rolling ferment, the first grape is harvested and one to two days later the juice from the next variety is added, progressively extending the fermentation and allowing the yeasts of each grape to work together. All fruit is hand-harvested from the calcareous clay soils of the Massís de Bonastre, fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and aged on lees in stainless steel. No fining, no filtration, no sulphur added.
Light, fresh and crunchy on the nose, with aromas of ripe white fruit, white flowers and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is honest, surprisingly easy to drink and finishes with real freshness. The spine of the wine comes from the regional white grape character: fresh and briny, with vibrant bracing acidity that grips the palate. At just 10% alcohol, this is a wine built entirely around pleasure and drinkability, the sort of bottle that disappears faster than expected. The magnum format makes that a feature rather than a problem. A perfect wine for a table, a terrace, or anyone who wants to understand what Catalonia's forgotten white varieties can taste like when given the chance to speak freely.
