A Swiss orange wine born of an unlikely marriage between Chasselas and Pinot Gris. Fresh, textured, and briny. This Swiss natural wine proves that there’s more to the Lavaux hillsides than just still white wine…
Nouvelle Vague is Benjamin Dupas’s boldest venture: a blend of Chasselas and Pinot Gris vinified using the orange method, with skin maceration. Chasselas is the king of Vaud’s grape varieties, traditionally vinified as a dry, light and neutral white wine. Pinot Gris adds structure and body.
Together, after maceration, they produce an orange wine with an amber hue, on the nose offering notes of candied peach, dried apricot, fresh herbs and a slight oxidative touch that adds depth. The palate is both textured and lively, with fine tannins and a salinity on the finish that gives it length. It is a sincere wine, made by someone who believes in what they do, and you can tell. Serve slightly chilled, with hearty dishes, roasted vegetables, mature cheeses or a fine selection of charcuterie.
